Orange Park High School was opened in 1959 as a junior-senior high school, though the highest grade served at the school was 10th grade at the time. It wasn’t until 1962 that the very first senior class of Orange Park High School graduated. In 1965, the first senior class that attended Orange Park junior-senior high school for the entire 6 year span, graduated.

The Orange Park High School Raider Band was founded in 1961, alongside the Raider football team. When the Raider Band initially began, band classes were held in the current NJROTC building and uniforms were white shirt, white pants (or skirt), and an orange tie.
